An Introduction to Megatron

In 2008, the economic cycle the UK had enjoyed came
to a shuddering halt and the rules of business changed. Budget commitments were abandoned and spending
plans shelved as organisations began to retreat back
to a fiscally constrained approach. In essence, nobody spent money unless it was absolutely necessary
and even then at levels far below anything
previously experienced.

So what on earth possessed Hydro-Cleansing to
invest over half a million pounds into Megatron
when all around us the markets were disappearing?

From our perspective, we needed to be able
to respond to three specific changes in
market conditions:

  • To increase our capability from a single onsite
    vehicle thus negating the need for mobilisation
    of multiple vehicle which entails increased costs
    in fuel and labour
  • To recognise that the inevitable migration
    from planned maintenance to reactive works
    was going to create greater operationally
    extreme situations which would potentially
    require a significant upscale in technical
    capability to deliver projects successfully
  • To reduce turn around time on completion of
    projects thus reducing associated costs
    incurred from off line infrastructure
    experienced by our clients
